Downton Holiday Park

Rules and terms and conditions of booking.

  •  Please read these terms and conditions before you use Downton Holiday Park.  By using the site you indicate you accept the terms as listed on behalf of your entire group.  As the lead person (first named person) you are responsible for and will accept liability for the whole group.  You will be required to sign your acceptance of these terms on behalf of the whole group upon arrival.
  • We are located in a Semi Rural area close to a farm and a neighbouring holiday park.  Many vital amenities such as Supermarket, Pharmacy, Fuel, Cash machines and Banks are within a 10 minute drive.  We cater mainly for family and couples holidays’.
  • A £50 deposit is required for each week of your Holiday. Please check your booking information immediately upon receipt and inform us within 24 hours of any discrepancy. A booking is only confirmed when you receive written confirmation from us.  Balances must be paid 28 days prior to the commencement of your holiday, no reminder will be sent.  Holidays booked with less than 28 days before the start must be paid in full at the time of booking. Any additional items you have requested will be shown on your invoice, if something is missing please notify us.
  • We strongly advise you take out holiday insurance.  Cancellations are subject to an administration fee of £50 and the following refunds only:
    1. Cancellation more than 1 month before first day of booking: 30%
    2. Cancellation between 1 week and 1 month before first day of booking: 15%
    3. Cancellation 1 week or less before first day of booking: 0%
    4. If we re-let the caravan we will refund the total less the administration fee. Alternatively we can offer a voucher for you to retake your holiday at the same cost within the same calendar year.
  • Accommodation should be available from 4pm on the day of arrival but due to circumstances beyond our control this may be delayed.  You must vacate by 10am on the day of departure.  Early check in and late check outs are by prior arrangement only.
  • Arrivals are Saturdays 4-6pm unless otherwise stated.  Arrivals at any other time may not have a staff member present for check in.
  • Parking space is mostly limited to one car per caravan.  Should you travel in more, we will do our best to allocate you a parking space nearby.
  • Single gender unsupervised under 18 year old non family groups are not accepted.
  • No caravan maybe used for sleeping more persons than it was designed for as stated in our brochure.  (Babies are included in the total)
  • Occupants of all caravans must behave in a sensible and responsible manner at Downton Holiday Park, and with due regard to other guests.  Musical Instruments, Radios and Televisions must not be used in a manner audible to other occupants or guests and all noise should be kept to a minimum after dark or 22.30hrs in order not to disturb others.
  • Smoking is not permitted in any of our caravans, or inside Laundry, Games room or phone box.  No smoking signs must be observed.
  • No guns, knives, archery equipment, or fireworks, are to be brought on site. Motorised scooters, Ball games, Frisbees, Kites, Drones, Camera-copters, any remote controlled flying vehicle, Candles, Fires, and Chinese Lanterns,  are not permitted to be used anywhere on the Holiday Park.  Bikes and scooters should be ridden in a safe and proficient manner and should have lights after dark.
  • Children must be supervised by an adult at all times when staying at Downton, on the outdoor play equipment, between caravans and whilst using all the site areas at all times of the day and night.
  • The speed limit on the Holiday Park is 5 miles per hour for all vehicles at all times.
  • Boats or large commercial vehicles are not allowed on the Holiday Park.  Trailers, box trailers and motor homes must have prior consent before being allowed on the Holiday Park.  If consent is given, it may be subject to an additional fee.  It is not permitted to sleep in these additional units.
  • Barbeques are permitted but should be sited well away from gas supplies and other combustible materials.  No barbeque is to be left unattended at any time.  Disposable types must be raised on a fire proof block and not placed directly on the grass areas, please ensure the BBQ is fully extinguished and wait 48 hours before disposing in the waste container.  Do not place a BBQ inside your caravan.
  • No caravan may be used as a base premises for business and no business may be undertaken in any caravan on the Holiday Park.
  • A maximum of 3 domestic pets are allowed by prior arrangement only.  Your dog is your responsibility and it must not cause a nuisance or be a danger to others.  Dogs must be kept under control and on a short lead at all times when out of the caravan and any fouling must be cleared up immediately and disposed of in a suitable bag in one of our animal waste bins.  Bags for this are available at reception if you do not have them.  Pets must not be left unattended in or outside a caravan at any time.
  • Bed linen must be used on all occupied beds during your stay and can be hired at reception if you require. We do not offer a bed making service.  Travel cots and high chairs, additional bedding and towels are available to hire from reception.
  • Your caravan should be left in a clean and tidy condition on your departure ready for our maintenance team.  Do not leave your Gas appliances or electrical items on unattended at any time.  If you need help with the heating or any item during your stay please ask.  Windbreaks or gazebos are not permitted.
  • Routine maintenance may be carried out at any point throughout the Park during your stay during which we may need to enter your caravan.
  • Some units have a ramp access.  This does not guarantee an adapted unit for additional needs use.
  • The grass and decking areas can be slippery at any time due to any weather condition, you should take appropriate care around the grounds.
  • Our games room and Laundry facilities are open between 10am and 5pm for your convenience.
  • Reception opening hours vary throughout the year, you will be advised of the opening hours when you arrive.  Our out of hours staff contact details are available during your stay on site in the Reception window.  Please call 999 in the event of an emergency situation.
  • Wifi is available on site and charges do apply.  It is supplied by an external source and their contact details are available.  It is to be used at your own risk and is suitable for viewing internet and will have some limited use.    The access may not be suitable for large download files or watching videos or television. Wifi access cannot be guaranteed.  You are bound by appropriate UK Law during its use.  You will be asked for your personal contact details before logging in for the first time.
  • Occupiers repeatedly not abiding to these rules may be asked to leave at The Managers discretion.
  • We reserve the right to add to or amend these rules at any time should the circumstances arise. Please check our website for updates or ask for an update on your arrival.
  • Personal possessions are your responsibility and we can not guarantee to return any item left at Downton after you check out.  Items may be collected by you or posted back if confirmed as found by us.  For this you will need to send us a prepaid envelope.  Items not collected will be disposed at the end of each calendar working year.
  • Allocated caravans prior to your stay may be changed without notice.
  • Any persons acting in an unlawful manner may be asked to leave the Holiday Park.
  • Complaints should be made in the first instance to the Manager during your stay and will be dealt with accordingly.  Written complaints should be addressed to the Manager at Downton Holiday Park within 28 days of your holiday and we will endeavour to reply with 28 days.

 

  • Short breaks in 2016 are available in low/mid-season. Subject to availability.
  • Dogs/pets are welcome in Exbury Caravans only at a cost of £35.00 weekly or part week.
  • Holiday insurance is advised.
  • It is advisable to check availability, particularly during mid-peak booking periods.
  • Booking forms should be completed in detail and returned with a deposit of £50.00 per week. The balance is due 4 weeks prior to arrival. No booking is confirmed until the deposit has been received.
  • Accommodation is available from 4 pm on the day of arrival and should be vacated by 10 am on the day of departure.
  • Caravans shown in the brochure are examples only and the caravans may differ.
  • No responsibility is accepted for loss, damage or injury to persons on their property during their  visit.
  • We regret that no refunds are possible.
  • We accept the following credit and debit cards: VISA, MasterCard, Switch and Delta.
